Introduced for 2015, the W205-generation C-Class pushed Mercedes-Benz into a new era of expressive, bold design. Sleek, flowing curves replace the rectilinear profile of the previous C-Class, while the interior looks several years ahead of competitors. Unlike the cheaper CLA, the C-Class never actually feels cheap despite starting at under ,000. It’s a soothing atmosphere of traditional luxury, high tech, and sporting pretensions.

The C300 gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission in either rear- or 4Matic all-wheel drive, which sends 45 percent of power to the front and 55 percent to the rear. The combination is perfect in a car this size. In Sport+ mode, the C300 keeps its turbo pumping and the revs high. Take it down to Comfort mode, and the C300 will loaf along like a proper Mercedes, quiet and calm.

Want more excitement? The new-for-2017 AMG C43 (formerly the C450 AMG Sport) has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 362 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque, paired exclusively with Benz’s new 9-speed automatic. The bro-tastic muscle version, the AMG C63, brings a loud 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 469 horsepower (or in the C63 S, a stupendous 503). Or you can go in the opposite direction with the C350e, a plug-in hybrid that combines the 4-cylinder from the CLA250 with an electric motor, good for 275 horsepower and a worthless 11 estimated miles of EV-only range. There is a C-Class for every budget and taste. Would you be more interested in buying a C300, or would you want more power in an AMG?

  1. Tem quase a potência do corollla… prefiro uma bmw que tem 184 cv! Onde já se viu um carro de 150 cv mais de 140 mil reais! Engraçado que esse touchpad deveria ser o câmbio né .. da no mesmo!!!

  2. Realmente, faltam alguns itens como porta copos, camera ré, cockpit virtual ! MAs enfim, mercedes é mercedes ….. E este carro é um tapa na cara , de tao bonito

  3. Muito caro, pouca potência, motorzinho 1.6, bunda caída, design sem inspiração, haja visto que a Classe E, S e C são iguais, só munda o tamanho, vai ver é isso o segredo do sucesso…BR compra e paga qualquer coisa que se pedir por um pouquinho de status e pra se aparecer.
    nos EUA nem tem C180, iriam dar risada, lá começa na C 300 (!!!) E custa 40,250 dólares. Aqui uma mercedinha de parcos 156 cv começa em 150 mil.
    Somos trouxas, sim ou com certeza?

  4. Para todo carro com baixa potência, tentam nos convencer de que "o câmbio compensa". Já cansei dessa desculpa.

    Único senão é com o vestuário. Não é uma crítica, mas uma dica. Poderia ir com alguma camisa com desenho de carro ou algo sobre o tema.

  8. Test drove C class 2017 demo model today but it wasn’t very quiet. Didnt feel too much difference in comfort between CLA and that one. Which I find weird. But the leather steering wheel felt super luxurious I thought.

  10. Tesla Model 3 is a much nicer car. Much roomier cabin and storage, and looks way more modern and pretty. Way sportier and it can drive itself.

  11. Talking while you drive is not a test drive critique.  How was the acceleration? How were the paddle shifters? Compare the 4matic to rear wheel drive. so much missing!

I was in the market for us then I drove the new A4 I drove the three series and I drove the Seaglass all with 2 L turbo liter turbot The 320 8I sounds like a lawn more when idling in no longer feels like a BMW I had the E 46 BMW in-line six loved it but the new BMWs are too soft and mushy the Audi is a much better car than the BMW the C class is the best looking out of all three but it looks ugly from the back and not having a proper gear shift that's a dealbreaker for me I don't want to gearshift like my dad's truck mounted to the steering column in the right quality of the Mercedes is not all that the interior of the Mercedes is beautiful so I end up driving A Kia Optima SX L turbo I fell in love I know Kia you say yeah when you drive that car after driving all these three German cars you'll know what I mean here in Canada I paid 40,000 for a fully loaded top-of-the-line Kia optima SXL that has real Napa leather that none of the other three cars even offer A fully loaded C class a four or a three series would cost me 17,000 more than the Kia so think about that you're paying for the emblem with cheap parts and they have the nerve to nickel and dime you for every single option so fuck all the German cars except for of course.

  13. love my car but I hate that damn eco mode and it always going back to default. I f I put my car in sport mode and turn it off and when I get ready to go again I would like it to be in sport mode .Half that crap I have I do not even use . I am into the drive instead of fighting with the controls
